Great shame ,and a great loss to the world of motorsport. The guy was an outstanding talent.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/others ... crash.htmlThere's only so much protection a crash helmet will afford. The first bike to hit him, could well have smashed his back, and killed him. The second bike to hit would have caused massive head injuries.

Looking at that video, the helmet was ripped from his head, you can see it rolling down the road/grass beside the bike. Didn't stand a chance.

It was Rossi's bike that took his helmet off (second one), ,went straight over it,and those two were best mates, and family friends,so god knows how Rossi is feeling Edwards's bike hit his torso.

Thats stuff of nightmares to attribute to your own friend's death. I don't think I could sleep at night for the rest of my life even though it was probably unavoidable.

Totally unavoidable,it was a very unusual crash, the bike didn't go where is should have done, and came back across the track dragging Marco with it,wouldn't surprise me if Rossi retired because of it,it's bound to haunt him.Edwards is one of the most popular guys in Moto Gp aswell. It's going to emotionally kick 7 bells out of them. You don't need flashbacks of something like that at 200+mph.
